Green Future Fund
The Green Future Fund will provide planned income to Environment Victoria to support our work to create a green future, and secure our independence.
Our environmental challenges won’t be solved overnight. So we need to make sure we’re here for many years to come.
Our Green Future Fund accepts tax-deductible donations and bequests and invests them for the future.
The funds generated will be used over a 20 year period to provide planned, reliable income to Environment Victoria. It’s a plan we know will help secure the environment’s future and our own future.
Our goal is to raise $6.5 million by 2015, and to grow this to $10 million by 2020. Each year, the fund will generate $500,000 in income to support our critical work.
We launched the fund in 2010 and already we have raised $2,050,000! And 14 people have pledged a bequest to the fund through their will. So we’re well on our way to our goal and a greener future.
All of us here at Environment Victoria would like to say a huge thanks to the Dara Foundation for their incredibly generous $2 million founding gift to the fund. And we’d like to thank the two donors who contributed $25,000 each to the fund along with those people that have promised funds in their will.
The Green Future Fund will ensure we’ve got the resources to keep working for our environment – both today and into the next two decades. Planning ahead will give us the best chance of securing the future we all want. A future where clean energy is the only form of energy. Where we can hear frogs croaking in our local creek. And where every Victorian is living sustainably.
But most of all, it will help us mobilise all 5 million Victorians to take Green Action.
