Your environment. Your future. Your vote.

At November’s state election the politicians will be trying to impress you. Make them work for it!

To help you make an informed vote on Saturday, 27 November, Victoria’s leading environment groups have assessed the current policies of the major state political parties on seven key issues like climate change, healthy rivers, national parks and forest protection. Here’s how they measured up.

This final update was published on Friday, 26 November as new policies announcements or commitments were released.

Turning it Around: A state election agenda to safeguard Victoria’s environment

Last year the groups released Turning it Around: A 2010 state election agenda to safeguard Victoria’s environment. This document summarised the scale of the environmental challenges faced by Victoria and set out the commitments needed from our next state government to put Victoria on a more sustainable footing.

The scores in this election scorecard reflect the environment groups assessment of party policies against environmental outcomes outlined in Turning it Around. They are based on public policy announcements current at Friday, 26 November and the parties responses to a detailed policy survey.

The table below shows each party’s score for the seven major topic areas outlined in Turning it Around
