Their election promises

On Saturday, 27 November 2010, Victorians went to the polls and voted in a Coalition Government under the leadership of Ted Baillieu. So what did they promise to do to safeguard our environment?

The Coalition didn’t release an environment or climate change policy before the election. But we’ve cobbled together the Baillieu Government’s election commitments regarding our water and rivers, climate, sustainability, natural environment and transport. It covers the good, the vague and the downright worrying.

It’s safe to say that these commitments are nowhere near enough to safeguard our environment and the Baillieu Government will need to do much more, if they are to live up to their role as caretakers of our environment.

Not satisfied? Neither were we. Here's what they actually need to do
