The state ALP government declared a series of magnificent new River Red Gum parks earlier this year. These outstanding conservation assets will protect the largest remaining Red Gum forests on Earth. It was great news for many who worked hard to protect these forests. But the job is half done. The floodplain ecosystems the forests rely on are in crisis and need environmental water to survive.
We’ve been running a campaign to get water back to these rivers. So, in the lead-up to the state election – where do the major parties stand? We’ve put together the latest information on policy announcements to give you the low-down on the River Red Gums.
