As state political attention focuses on Frankston, Victoria’s lead environment group will today unveil a major new campaign in the marginal seat.
Environment Victoria CEO Mark Wakeham will today join with the Mayor of Frankston and local community members and supporters to open a new Enviro Hub in Wells Street Frankston.
The community centre and shopfront will be central to Environment Victoria’s efforts to bring environmental issues to centre stage ahead of the up-coming state election – whenever that may be.
“The media is talking about Geoff Shaw, we are keen to talk about the foreshore – and much more,” said Mr Wakeham.
“We are building the biggest, most targeted election campaign we’ve ever done to get our environment back on the agenda for the 2014 State election and keep it there for good.
“No matter who we are, or how we vote, we all want clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, our special places protected and a safe future for our kids.
“Environment Victoria’s campaign will include the Enviro Hub, a major community outreach and organising campaign, extensive doorknocking and targeted commercial and social media advertising.
“We will be building power and awareness of the issues in the places politicians listen to the most so that no major political party can ignore the truth that Victorians care about our environment and we expect our political leaders to protect it.”
The Enviro-Hub is now open to the media and members of the public.
