Following the March 2021 announcement that Yallourn Power Station would close in 2028, an Upper House Inquiry was announced on the economic impacts of coal power station closures on the region and the effectiveness of the Latrobe Valley Authority.
The Inquiry was called for by The Nationals’ Melina Bath MP, supported by the Greens, the Reason Party and Liberal Democrats. It brings attention to the key issues for the region as it transitions away from coal and is an opportunity to raise important local viewpoints, ideas for solutions and to have your say on what the Victorian Government should be prioritising.
You can find more details on the inquiry here.
