WHAT? MARCH FOR CLIMATE ACTION!
WHEN? Sunday 1st May, 1:00-3:00pm
WHERE? Meeting at Ballarat Civic Hall and finishing at Ballarat Town Hall
WHO? The rally is supported by and in collaboration with Ballarat Action Climate Co-op (School Strike 4 Climate), Extinction Rebellion Ballarat, Ballarat Renewable Energy and Zero Emissions (BREAZE), Ballarat Community Alliance, Ballarat Climate Action Network & Public Transport Users Association Ballarat
WHY? Community members from the Ballarat region have been reaching out to local businesses, environmental organisations, community and other groups – asking them to sign on to the open letter for faster and fairer climate action in Victoria
To demonstrate the momentum that’s building locally in support of climate action, we will be hosting a rally with speeches from First Nations and youth climate leaders of Ballarat, amongst others! Come and join us to amplify the climate message to the Ballarat public and take part in a gathering of locals who believe that the transition to a more sustainable society needs to be fast and fair. This election it’s more important than ever to join the call, to show our political candidates just how loud we’ve become together.
AND THEN WHAT? After the rally at 4:00-5:00pm at Ballarat Technical School, BREAZE are hosting a federal candidates forum. Candidates standing for the seat of Ballarat in the upcoming Federal election have been invited to present their policies for addressing the climate emergency. This is an opportunity for Ballarat residents to meet the candidates and ask them questions about their climate policies. Come along! RSVP to BREAZE’s federal candidates forum HERE
