This December 2–8, we’re hosting an exciting snap week of action to repower Victorian homes with efficient electric appliances. Can we count on you to join us?

For a digital copy of the resources MP’s will be receiving, advice on how to deliver the guide and more, check out our resource page here.
The Victorian government is about to put forward a plan to phase out polluting gas space heaters and hot water units in Victorian homes. It’s an opportunity to move us closer towards a gas-free future where all Victorians have access to cleaner energy, healthier homes and cheaper bills.
This is your chance to make an impact by delivering key resources to your MP’s office, displaying your support with a colorful yard sign, and taking a happy snap for social media.
Use our quick and easy tool to email your MP and tell them you’re dropping off our electrification briefer to their office. By delivering this information directly, you’ll help ensure MPs are informed about the benefits of electrification and understand the community’s support to phase out polluting, expensive gas appliances.
Need support? We’ve made an action guide here to make your experience as seamless as possible.
Oh, and don’t forget to get a photo with the MP when you go. Alternatively you can just get a photo at their office.
Email your MP and schedule a time to drop off our electrification resources>>
Pick up a vibrant, eye-catching yard sign from our Carlton office. Display it in your front yard or window to spread the message in your community during the week of action.
Yard signs can be picked up from our office at 2/60 Leicester St, Carlton VIC 3053. Let us know you’re coming by emailing community@environmentvictoria.org.au.
Take a picture as you deliver the briefer to your MP’s office and pose with your yard sign (or alternatively take a photo outside your house with your yard sign). Send your photo to community@environmentvictoria.org.au and share to social media to inspire others and show widespread community support.
The Victorian government is planning to phase out gas appliances like hot water systems and heaters as they break down, and replace them with efficient, modern electric alternatives. This transition offers 3 big wins for Victorians:
But the gas industry is fighting back, lobbying hard to maintain their profits at the expense of a safer, cleaner future. That’s why we need your voice to amplify community support for this essential transition.
We have a critical few months to secure policies for a well-planned phase-out of gas, and your voice is essential.
