Dealing with the immediate health crisis is the priority right now. But the world is going to be different after coronavirus, and the Andrews government will soon be deciding how to create jobs and reset our economy.
Together we need to make sure these decisions are putting us on the path to a fairer and more sustainable society.
We’ve already sent a submission to the Victorian government (you can read it here). It outlines many opportunities, from energy efficiency upgrades and habitat restoration to bike super-highways.
But we need to you to build a groundswell of momentum and support.
Can you share our submission with your state MP and ask what they think about the ideas we’ve put forward?
Things you could mention in your email:
• Mention how coronavirus has affected you or your loved ones – either health or financially
• Talk about your experience of complying with physical distancing rules
• Emphasise the opportunity to kick-start economic activity in a way that putting us on the path to a fairer and more sustainable society – fixing multiple problems at once
• Ask them to reply with their thoughts about re-starting the economy once the immediate health crisis has passed
