Thanks for joining our webinar on Treaty and the environment!
We heard from inspiring First Nations leaders about the opportunities Treaty brings for protecting land, water and climate – and how we can walk together toward a more just and sustainable future.
Right now is a critical moment to show your support for Treaty.
Treaty legislation has been introduced to the Victorian Parliament. Politicians from all sides will be debating this bill in the coming weeks, and they need to hear loud and clear that Victorians support Treaty.
Here are six ways you can take action today:
- Contact your State MP. The single most powerful thing you can do is call or email your local MP and let them know their community supports Treaty.
- Share on social media. Encourage your friends to contact their MPs too by sharing these tiles and spreading the word online.
- Attend a Together for Treaty event. Join an online conversation training or regional community workshop (events in Portland, Horsham, Shepparton, Bendigo, Bairnsdale and Morwell) to connect and learn more.
- Join the 350 Naarm Treaty Campaign. Get involved in community conversations, postering parties, film screenings and more.
- Email the Opposition Leader, Brad Battin. Tell him you support Treaty and expect bipartisan leadership for justice and unity.
- Get materials and resources. Download posters, conversation guides and social tiles – or email community@environmentvictoria.org.au to pick up corflutes, stickers and posters from our Carlton office. You can also pick up materials at Trades Hall, Carlton.
Every message, every conversation, and every show of solidarity counts. Together, we can make sure Treaty becomes a landmark moment for justice, Country and climate.
