RESTORE THE FLOW: Stand with our rivers, wetlands and wildlife

Donate today:

Revive our rivers before it’s too late

The lower Murray River has been officially listed as Critically Endangered. The Murray-Darling Basin, covering half of our state, is at risk of ecological collapse.

We can change this story — but we must act now.

This campaign will take sustained public pressure to win. Powerful interests have shaped water policy for years — but together, we can push governments to choose communities, wildlife and living rivers instead.

You can join the movement that brings hope to the wildlife, communities and places that depend on healthy, flowing water.

How you'll help to restore the flow

1
Harness the Power of Storytelling

You'll help to produce inspiring short films that share the experiences of communities impacted by river decline, and shine a spotlight on the wetlands, wildlife and ecosystems that need our help. These compelling films will build public support for healthier rivers, putting pressure on decision-makers to act.

2
Get the Message Seen to Spark Change

Decision-makers are far more likely to act when they know the public is paying attention. Your support will help us work with journalists, create compelling media opportunities and elevate the voices of communities on the frontlines of the river crisis.

3
Pressure Decision-Makers to Restore Our Rivers

You'll help by creating more spaces to bring together Traditional Owners, local communities, scientists, farmers and advocates to connect, learn from one another and organise for lasting change. Your support will help to empower community leaders with the skills, resources and networks they need to advocate for healthy rivers far and wide, from within their communities to the desks of decision-makers in Canberra

We Know How to Win.

Our strategy is simple and effective: bring together people who care, equip them to take action, and make sure decision-makers hear a loud, united call for healthy rivers.

The Murray-Darling Basin wasn’t pushed to the brink overnight, and it won’t recover overnight either. Powerful interests have shaped water policy for decades. The only thing strong enough to counter them is a movement of people demanding better.

That’s exactly what we’ve been building.

Together, we’ve helped win major reforms, including the Restoring Our Rivers legislation, which put the health of the Murray-Darling Basin back on the national agenda.

Right now, the Murray-Darling Basin plan review is underway, a once-in-a-decade opportunity to put our rivers on a path to recovery.

And we’re making this moment count. More than 1,000 Environment Victoria supporters recently took powerful action by making submissions to the review, helping show governments that Victorians want living rivers, not empty promises.

We’re on the cusp of launching powerful, compelling short-films that will build awareness, spark conversations and grow the movement for healthy rivers — showing decision-makers that support for change is strong, widespread and impossible to ignore.

Now we need to keep momentum building. Together, we can get water back to rivers and wetlands, flowing to those who need it most.
