Ask your local candidates to be a champion for Clean Energy for All!

With just weeks until the state election, we’re calling on candidates to show us they will be a champion for #CleanEnergyForAll in their electorate by posting their support on social media. By getting candidates to go on the public record, we can show there’s massive support across the state, and we can push all candidates to go further.

HOW TO SEND YOUR EMAIL

1. Type your postcode or electorate in the search box

2. Click the ‘SEND EMAIL’ button – it will open a new window with your candidate’s emails in the BCC box and the email text pre-filled. It’s okay to leave the ‘to’ field empty.

3. Customise the email by adding information about your area and why climate is important for you. Don’t forget to be polite!

4. Hit send!

One of the most important issues for me is climate change. I’m a local resident and will be voting for the candidate who will take urgent action to address the climate crisis.

I support Environment Victoria’s Clean Energy for All campaign and urge you to champion a fast and fair transition to renewable energy within your party or in your own platform.

Will you publicly commit to be a champion for Clean Energy for All in our electorate, to make sure everyone can power their lives with clean energy?

I’m asking you to show your support by posting this message on your social media channels:

You can take a photo of yourself holding this message, or simply post it as text. The most important thing is for you to tell us how you’ll support Clean Energy for All in our electorate. You could link to your party’s policy platform or add a statement of what you want to achieve, if elected.

The next term of government must deliver the actions we need to put Victoria on track for a fast and fair transition to 100% clean energy. That’s why, together with thousands of other Victorians, I am calling on my local candidates to deliver Clean Energy for All. That means:

Powering all Victorian households with 100% clean energy by 2030

Supporting all households – whether you rent, own, or live in social housing – to become more efficient and go all-electric

Urgently scaling up training and education for careers in transition and clean energy.

I’m keen to know whether I can count on you to be a strong voice for climate action in my local electorate.
