Environment Victoria gives you all the facts and details you need to help safeguard our environment. Which means we never ever want to lose your trust. So we promise to respect your privacy and not share your personal information with others without permission.
The following policy describes the information we gather and how we make every effort to use it for good, not evil.
Information you provide to and receive from us
From time to time, you may provide us with your personal details. For example, when you sign a petition, give to Environment Victoria or sign-up for or regular bulletin, you’ll need to provide us with your personal details. We promise to never to share them with any other third party without your consent. The only time we will provide your details to others is if its part of an action you’ve taken and consented to (for example, a petition will have your name and address) or when we are legally required to do so. Other than that, your personal details are safe with us.
Once you have given us your details, we will send you alerts on the latest cyberactions you can take, information on fundraising appeals, and other organisational updates we think you'll be interested in. Other than that, we will only ever send you bulletins that you have directly signed up for. And you can let us know at any time if you want to stop receiving one or all of these forms of communication.
You can check the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us by email, post or phone. See our contact information below.
Any personal information you provide to us may be disclosed, where appropriate, to third parties who provide services on our behalf, such as mail, telephone and IT services. We may also disclose your personal information to our volunteers who assist with many of our tasks.
Analysis of your movements on the site
When you visit environmentvictoria.org.au, our web server collects your inbound domain name. This tells us which pages you visit and what information you volunteer (like when you fill in your email address and name to get “in” on Green Action). The information we collect is used only for internal review, to improve our web content, to optimize your web experience and, in some cases, to customize the content and/or layout of select pages so you feel welcome and don’t get bored.
If you provide us with your email, phone and/or mailing address, you may receive information from us periodically about Environment Victoria campaigns and initiatives or upcoming events. If you don’t want to receive this information, just tell us so by email, phone or written letter. Please include your exact name and address so that we can correctly remove you from our mailing lists.
If you have any queries or concerns about the treatment of your personal information by Environment Victoria or you would like to make corrections to inaccuracies in that information, please contact us in any of the following ways:
By Post: PO Box 12575, A'Beckett Street, Melbourne Vic 8006
