RALLY: Coal-fired power station funding on the line

At 12.30pm tomorrow, Wednesday, 1 February, hundreds of people will rally on the Steps of Parliament House, Spring St Melbourne to call on the Baillieu and Gillard Governments to withdraw their $150 million of taxpayer grants to a proposed new coal-fired power station called HRL. The federal funding of $100 million is currently under review by the Gillard Government.

The rally will be hosted by Environment Victoria, Greenpeace and Quit Coal and is part of a major campaign to stop the proposed new coal-fired power station for Victoria from going ahead. Read more about it here
