Stawell and Ararat community climate action groups are inviting local residents and their families to join them for Australia's biggest day of community action on climate change, the Walk Against Warming.

This year's Walk Against Warming, which is on Saturday, December 12 at 12 noon, will take place in Melbourne and will coincide with the International Day of Action on Climate Change and global climate talks in Copenhagen.

Stawell Climate Action Group spokesperson Emily Anderson said the Walk Against Warming was a great opportunity for local residents to show they care about climate change.

“Jump on the `climate train' and join us at the Walk Against Warming. With more than 20,000 other people expected on the day, you can be assured that our combined voices will really help influence our leaders to commit to big cuts in global emissions,'' she said.
