We finally saw a reversal of fortunes for our much-loved Yarra and Thomson Rivers. After a long battle and strong media campaign led by Environment Victoria, we got the state government to return 3 billion litres of water to the Thomson and 7 billion litres to the Yarra. It’s only a fraction of what’s been raided out of the rivers over the years but it will give them some much needed breathing space.
