The One Million Homes Alliance comprising 27 groups from the environment and social sector (headed by yours truly) gladly welcomed the Brumby government’s commitment to 1) increase the energy efficiency of Victorian homes to an average of 5 stars by 2020 and 2) a comprehensive retrofit / green makeover program that includes support for low income households and public housing tenants. This decision was based on our One Million Homes energy and water efficiency campaign and turned out to be a quick and easy win, no doubt due to the fact it was such a good idea! This program will help many Victorians along the way to greening up their lives and so we couldn’t be happier!
