Who said a carbon tax can’t be fun?
About 20 people rolled an enormous earth-ball through Rosalind Park yesterday as part of the Victorian Say Yes Earth Relay, an event in support of the price on pollution.
The earth-ball is being passed from town to town across Victoria in a series of community events leading up to the final vote on the Clean Energy Future carbon price legislation in Parliament in early November.
Bendigo Sustainability Group’s policy action group co-ordinator Karen Corr said the group took part in the relay to show there was strong support for putting a price on pollution from Bendigo residents.
“We support the price on pollution as a good first step to transition to a low-carbon and sustainable-energy future,” she said.
“This is the way the future is heading and we want to be part of that.”
