The State Government is again cutting the subsidies paid to households that sell solar power from their rooftop panels…

…Environment Victoria campaigner Victoria McKenzie-McHarg says the reduction means it will not be worthwhile for many households to install solar energy.

"This is not a subsidy. Paying eight cents is reducing it to about the wholesale cost of electricity," she said.

"People will actually be losing out in this deal and this amounts to about half of what the current retail cost of electricity currently is.

"This is a very bad deal for Victorians and it's yet another backwards step for our environment from the Baillieu Government."
