The final nail in the coffin for HRL’s new coal-fired power station

Over a year after the federal government withdrew its $100 million grant for HRL’s proposed new power station in the Latrobe Valley, the state government finally revoked its $50 million grant, driving the final nail in the coffin for this big polluter!

Over the last decade we organised rallies, mounted a legal challenge with the EPA and delivered a petition handsigned by 13,000 people to be tabled in Parliament. Now, new coal power stations are now unlikely to ever be built again in Australia.
