Environment Victoria News: Issue 33, Autumn 2020

After a devastating fire season that saw large swathes of East Gippsland’s wet forests go up in smoke, we embarked on a new project – helping people in fire-affected areas tell their stories.

Many were dealing with shock, grief, the daily struggle of life without power or running water, and the prospect of rebuilding from scratch. Despite this, they gave their time because it was too important to stay silent about the need for unprecedented action on climate change.

To all of them, we say thank you. This edition of Environment Victoria News is dedicated to them and their stories.

The stories in this issue will leave you inspired by the courage and generosity of people across our movement, from Gippsland Solar helping a wildlife shelter get back up and running, to Jann who travelled from Mallacoota to deliver her climate message directly to the Victorian parliament.

We also have articles on building your emotional resilience and how to stay engaged while self-isolating (which you can also read in our blog post here).

We hope you stay safe through this difficult time.
