The Victorian government’s Gas Substitution Roadmap (GSR), first released in 2022 and updated in 2023 and 2024, sets out a sensible path away from high gas prices and potential shortfalls.
The measures in the GSR, including these proposed regulations, have been communicated clearly and well in advance of any decision. The regulations will demonstrate to jurisdictions everywhere what an orderly transition away from fossil gas looks like. Environment Victoria applauds the Victorian government for taking this necessary action.
