What is water justice? And what could it look like in the Murray-Darling? Hear from Traditional Owners and allies in this great video, filmed at the River Peoples’ Forum earlier this year.
First Nations have cared for the rivers of the Murray-Darling for thousands of generations. But today, they own less than 0.2% of water rights. While rivers continue to be polluted, dammed and sucked dry, First Nations are denied the decision-making power to care for them.
It’s one of the biggest environmental injustices in Australia. And it’s a fight that needs allies across the continent standing in solidarity and backing in First Nations’ calls for action. Will you add your voice?
