Tragedy has struck in the rivers of our Murray-Darling Basin – and it could have been prevented.

Just weeks ago, over a million dead fish were found suffocated and floating on the surface of the Darling-Baaka River. Thousands of native fish are also now being found dead on the Murray River in Victoria’s north-west.

CSIRO scientists have said clearly what we need to do now: make sure there’s enough water for a healthy flowing river and thriving wetlands.

But who is stopping our rivers from thriving? The Victorian government.

For the last decade, the Victorian government has sabotaged our rivers and stopped them from getting the healthy water they need – siding with a handful of cashed-up irrigators instead of our environment.

Now there’s only a couple of months until the next big meeting between the water ministers who decide the fate of our rivers.

Your support today will power this urgent campaign to demand the Andrews government stops blocking the solution our rivers need. Here’s how:

1. Power the state-wide campaign to demand more water for rivers through news articles, social media, targeted ads, op-eds, petitions and attention-grabbing events.

2. Commission expert research and expose the truth behind Victoria’s dodgy tactics and supports the real, science-backed solutions.

3. Amplifying the voices and stories that matter – including farmers and Traditional Owners who want to see our rivers and wetlands receive the water they need.

Together, we can stop the sabotage – with Victorians up and down the river, from the city and country, speaking out for a healthy Murray-Darling.
