Stop the dodgy gas industry greenwashing

It’s a disgrace. And it’s a recipe for climate disaster.

In the latest greenwashing attempt, the Australian Gas Network (AGN) has sponsored MasterChef Australia with “renewable gas”.

But it’s the oldest trick in the fossil fuel ‘greenwashing’ book: they pretend they’ve got a miraculous ‘green’ solution and that nothing needs to change. This is what AGN is doing with “renewable gas” – using smoke and mirrors to mislead millions of Australians into believing that the fossil gas network can be made ‘clean’.

It’s not surprising – the fossil fuel industry has been trying to rebrand as ‘green’ for a while. Because they know that Australians are more and more worried about climate change.

But their intent is clear: delay the transition to clean energy, keep burning fossil fuels, and keep raking in the profits.

Our climate, environment and future generations can’t afford for this to happen.

To protect our climate, we are fighting back against this misleading fossil fuel trickery.

And this year, we have a golden opportunity to end this fight once and for all:
