The year 2018 is underway, and at Environment Victoria we’re facing the the clearest and most important mission we’ve ever had – the Victorian election in November.
The election could be a moment when we lock in and extend Victoria’s leadership in the transition to renewable energy. Or it could be the moment when the state takes a giant step backwards and decides to dismantle much of the progress of the last three years.
This special edition of Environment Victoria News lays out what’s at stake in the November poll, and what we’re doing to put the environment on the agenda. Plus read about life in the Latrobe Valley 12 months on from the closure of Hazelwood power station, and the latest developments in our long-running campaign to return more water to the rivers and wetlands of the Murray-Darling Basin.
