Across the Murray-Darling Basin, governments are spending hundreds of millions of dollars on dodgy offset projects that aim to engineer wetlands to survive with less water.

Two of those projects threaten Nyah-Vinifera Park, where hundreds of old trees could be cut down to make way for levees, pumps, steel and concrete infrastructure.

These projects have wasted millions that could have meaningfully improved river health. The water offset scheme has deprived rivers and wetlands of billions of litres of water for a decade.

Federal Environment Minister Murray Watt has the power to end this destructive approach before more damage is done.

Send an email now and tell him to protect Nyah-Vinifera, reject destructive wetland engineering projects, and put water back where it belongs: in rivers and wetlands.
