Right now, gas companies and their political backers are flooding the media with misinformation to delay the clean energy transition. But people power can drown them out — and that’s where you come in.

Whether you're calling into talkback radio, delivering a newsletter to your MP, or helping spread good news with postcards, your voice matters. And you won’t be doing it alone — Environment Victoria will support you every step of the way with resources, training, and a community of fellow volunteers.

Choose how you want to get involved below — and let’s make sure the truth is louder than the spin.

More Information About the Roles

Here’s a description of the three roles. Have a think about which one (or more) you can do. Note that Victor from Environment Victoria will provide training, materials and support for each role.

1. Newsletterer – Deliver good news about electrification to your local state (and/or federal) MP once each month for the next ~4 months. The newsletter will showcase a range of events and activities where everyday Victorians are learning about, speaking about and enjoying the benefits of home electrification. The goal is to keep electrification at the front of mind for MPs over the next few months.

2. Squawk-Back Gang – head over to the sign up form over here>>

Make your voice heard on talk back radio, offering your perspective on why home electrification is a good thing. You will be working with a team to tune into talk-back radio, and when you hear gas or electrification topics come up, call in (or text in) and add your two cents! You will have support to ensure you know how to say what you want to concisely and accurately. The goal is to ensure that everyday Victorians who listen to radio are hearing from independent thinkers, rather than just ads and comments from the gas industry. Note that writing letters to the editor is also a great way to achieve this goal – let us know if that suits you better.
